Plinth, marble, for Sir George Findlay bust, engraved ‘Sir George Findlay, Born on the 18th May, 1829, appointed Goods Manager of the London and North Western in 1864, in 1874 General Traffic Manager in 1880 his unfailing commonsense and intimate acquaintance with the affairs of the Company placed him in the position of General Manager.
