Philips PC 80 colour television camera head
- maker:
- Philips Electronics
Philips PC 80 (LDK 3) colour television camera head, with Pye branding, manufactured in 1966.
This camera head is an update on the PC 60 which was Philips' first colour camera. Where the PC 60 required two seperate camera cables to transmit footage, the PC 80 used a single larger cable, known as a G101 cable after it's 101 wires that it housed. Other improvements were made to the circuits within the camera from the PC 60.
The camera head housed the scanning yokes, scanning circuits and a prism to split incoming light into three colours: red, green and blue.
