Debrie "Pied Chariot" Camera Ped

Pedestal, also known as a "Pied Chariot". The ped could be craned up to a height of 6 feet approx. It was not possible to adjust crane or track on air as the camera man has to take his eyes of the viewfinder to do this. There are no cable guards so cables cables and feet could be trapped during a movement, resulting in a jolting stop or the ped tipping over.
First used in the early 50's, & still in use in some studios in 1970.
