Key diagram explaining contents and accounts of the 'British Air Transport' mural, which was painted by William Kempster ARCA, London, England, 1969 and unveiled by H.M. The Queen in Heathrow Airport Terminal 1, on 17 April 1969. The mural was commissioned by the British Airports Authority for Terminal 1 Heathrow Airport on the theme: British air transport - the pioneering days 1919-1934, commemorating pioneers planes and early years of commercial passenger transport at Hounslow Heath in 1919 and continued at Croydon from 1920 until 1939.
