This lantern slide is one of a set illustrating Lewis Carroll's story, 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. It and the rest of the set were projected in a magic lantern alongside the lanternist reciting the story for groups of people to enjoy. The text from the slide reading for this slide repeats the words from the novel - "The white rabbit blew three blasts on his trumpet and called out".
