Anthropomimetic arm employing air muscles, developed and made by the Shadow Robot Company, London, England, 2001

With its arm full of air muscles, this hand could grab a heavy drill, carefully pick up a teacup and safely shake hands with children. Each motion was achieved by groups of arm muscles working together, just like human ones do.
