80x94mm red Morocco hanging case with single ring. Gold leaf border around inside (very worn). Blue plush edging. Ornate gilt rectangular mat with fluted edges. Pinchbeck frame. Lacquer back. 53x70mm three quarter length portrait of young woman draped in black (widow?) seated full face, arm resting on table. Badly tarnished. Taken at New Brighton, Aug 28 1858.
