Model of a Mather & Platt wagon kier. Cylindrical horizontal kier with lifting slope wedge shaped door (counterbalance weight at rear). Two trucks for holding cloth can be moved in and out on rails. Part of the rail lifts to allow the door to drop and close. Pipes and pumps to circulate water. Mounted on a mahogany base. Cloth was put into the trucks which were pushed into the keir, the door shut, bleaching solution poured in and steam turned on. Kier was used to scour cotton fabric.
