Milling machine, made by Kendall & Gent, Manchester.

This is a horizontal milling machine made by the Manchester machine tool company of Kendall and Gent. It still has its cutting tool in place, and it is the typical fluted tool. Machines of this kind were usually used for making multisided items like nuts. It has a simple indexing facility, enabling the operator to calculate angles and accurately cut the right number of sides on the item being made.
