Schaeffer and Budenberg were a manufacturer ofpressure gauges. The company was established in Magdeburg-Backau, in Germany, by Mr Schaeffer (an inventor) and his friend Mr C F Budenberg (a farmer), in 1850. By 1858 they had moved their sales office to Manchester, although it was not until 1876 that they started to manufacture pressure gauges in the UK.
