One photograph showing a crowd gathered on Speedwell Street, Deptford, where all the houses have been condemned as part of a Deptford slum clearance proposal, taken by an unknown photographer for Special Press, 22 March 1933. Caption on back reads: 'Under a £202,000 scheme, nearly 1,400 at present living in slums in Deptford are to e foundnew modern Homes, the scheme was adopted by the Depford Borough Council, and all their houses, which have been condemned by the Modical Officer will be replaced by Modern Sets of Flats'.
