Personal archive of Captain AGD West, covering 1916-1949. 5 boxes of notebooks, ephemera, correspondence, publications, leaflets, technical diagrams and photographs.

West was a radio engineer in WW1, a research engineer for the BBC, then went to work for HMV. In 1933, he became chief engineer at Baird Television Limited. During WW2, BTL went into receivership due to the shut down television broadcasts in 1939, but West continued as chief engineer of their cinema television division, Cintel, which had transferred to manufacturing electronic equipment for the war effort.
