Radio Lamp

Radio built in to free standing mahogany standard lamp, unknown maker, about 1932. Possibly European manufacture.

As tastes have changed across time, so has the presentation of media technology. When technologies are new and novel they are often displayed as pride of place in a home, such as a widescreen television. However, at other times people want to be able to hide or disguise their media players. In this example, a radio has been hidden away into a lamp, perhaps to make it harder to notice, or to have a dramatic reveal when in use.
