2-XL Robot with box packaging and accessories, manufactured by Burbank Toys, Taiwan, 1978-81
2-XL was an educational toy robot, and in exhibiting basic responsiveness, memory, and game-play has been desribed as the first 'smart toy', including a rudimentary personality to encourage interaction by children playing with it.
