Four-cased watch made for the Turkish export market, by Edward Prior London c. 1800. The outermost case is dome-shaped, the next covered in tortoiseshell studded with silver, whilst the inner two are plain silver. The innermost case has the maker's stamp 'IR' and a London hallmark dated for 1820. The second silver case has the maker's stamp N. White enamel dial with Turkish numerals and gold beetle and poker hands. Movement with verge escapement and signed on the backplate ‘Edwd. Prior, London 45692’.
