Pair-cased watch, by Benjamin Gray & Justin Vulliamy, London, mid-18th century. Inner case of plain gold stamped with the makers mark ‘JR’ or ‘TR’. Outer case of gilt-metal covered with shagreen. White enamel dial with steel beetle and poker hands. Movement with cylinder escapement with ruby endstone, signed ‘Benj. Gray Just. Vulliamy London n.n.s.’. Presented to the museum of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers by Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy in 1853. Clockmakers' Museum No. 320
