Gold pair-cased watch by Brounker Watts, London, c.1705. Outer gold case pierced and chased with a classical scene in the centre, and four portrait busts around the band. Inner gold case pierced and engraved. Bell mounted to inside. Champlevé gold dial signed 'Watts, London' with steel hands. Movement with striking train, verge escapement and signed cap, with eccentric centrally-pivoted spring. Clockmakers' Museum No. 714
