Quarter repeating pair cased watch by Ellicott, London c.1770. Gilt-metal outer case of under-painted horn, simulating tortoiseshell, with copper piqué decoration. Inner case made of pierced and engraved gold. White enamel dial with steel beetle and poker hands. Movement with repeating-work, cylinder escapement, diamond endstone and dust cap. Signed on the dustcap ‘Ellicott London No. 6132’ and on the movement Ellicott London. Clockmakers' Museum No. 798
