Report, paper, Feasibility Study for the 5AT Locomotive, produced by the 5AT Group, circa 2002. The study backs up the project to build a modernised improved steam locomotive, the 5AT (Advanced Traffic) based on a BR Standard Class 5, and provides justification for the locomotive build as the motive power for a planned series of tourist trains in the UK and possibly abroad. It also gives the financial planning that supports the loco build. The 5AT Group failed in their aim to build the locomotive, and folded in 2012. However the core membership regrouped as the Advanced Steam Traction Trust and issued David Wardale's Fundamental Design Calculations which formed the basis of the 5AT project, and worked on enhancements to existing steam locomotives.
