A gelatin silver photograph from the Daily Herald Archive entitled 'Everest Expedition' by Special Press Picture Agency. Photograph shows General Bruce, lead of the expedition with a cine camera atop a train carriage (this is most likely the cine camera used by Captain Noel to record the expedition - also in the collection 1978-461).

The 1920s Everest expeditions were only possible because of the transport and support networks of the British Empire, which could move travellers, equipment and information around the globe. Here, Everest expedition leader General Bruce stands next to a train with a cine camera mounted on the roof.
