He also talks about his own father (David Jameson), his career as a signalman for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, who was nearly deaf and almost caused incident in 1910s-1920s. The second audiocassette, recorded around 1980-1985, is a recorded conversation between John Jameson and Ken Allan, about the opposition to the Whitby Railway closures. John and Ken participated to the anti-closure campaign of the lines to Whitby. Ken Allan was the Clerk to Whitby Urban District Council.
