A large collection of papers produced by Mervyn O'Gorman. Included are papers on roads and road imporvements, including the German Road Delegation (1937), papers relating to his involvement in the Royal Aeronautics Club and FAI and personal correspondence. This collection is composed of the personal paper of Mervyn O’Gorman and relate to many of his activities outside of his work at the Royal Aircraft Factory. Along with numerous draft articles and letters that appear to have been produced for publication in various trade and technical journals, there is also material that relates to his work as a member of various bodies relating to aviation and motoring. This includes papers from the Royal Aero Club relating to the 1929 and 1931 Schneider Trophy races, reports from his work at the League of Nations and material from the 1937 German Road Delegation. There is also personal material including receipts for work undertaken at his home, such as the installation of an air raid shelter, and examples of poetry he had written. 1890-1958
