A contact sheet containing three images of a group of workers on strike in Back House Lane, Stepney, 9th September 1955. The workers are striking because of the use of bad language and abuse by the foreman in the company. The workers are photographed marching, carrying signs reading “Bad Language And Abuse At All Times Refused.” The caption on the back reads “Strike of Employees From Back House Lane, Stepney. OPS. Mrs L. Mitchell, who is on strike with 120 others from their place of employment in Back House Lane, Stepney.” The photograph was taken by a Daily Herald staff photographer.
