Photograph contact strip titled 'Teen-age girls will tame the wolves'. Caption on back reads: Two 17-year-old hostesses at Whipsnade Children's Zoo have been given the job of taming to three-month-old wolf cubs. It is the first time Whipsnade has tried to tame wolves. The hostesses, 17-year-old Adrienne Wheeler, and 17-year-old blonde Joyce Shury, have to cuddle and pet them so that in time they will be tame enough for visiting children to handle. A Zoo official said "They are still very wild. We hope they will respond to affection from the girls." To catch the cubs, which were running wild in an enclosure with a pack of Canadian wolves, keepers had to make a surprise raid by van and grab the two cubs. But, it is feared that when they show their teeth, the girls may be a little shy of them'. Images by A. Tanner for the Daily Herald.
