Part of Bedson-type rod rolling mill, known as a NoTwist Wire Rod Mill. This is an American machine made by Morgan, built in Manchester and used by Richard Johnson & Brother Ltd, Manchester, c.1872.
The machine was designed Morgan Construction Company (USA) after the original design of George Benson (UK). It was used in the Bradford Iron Works, Forge Lane, Manchester. The City of Manchester stadium was built on the site of the demolished Bradford Iron Works.
