Coin, gold. Quarter-guinea of George I. Obv. GEORGIVS'D'G.M.BR FR. ET HIB'REX F'D. Bust of king to right, laureate.' Rev. BRVN ET •L'DVX S'R'I'A'TH ET'EL 1718. Four shields, each crowned, arranged in form of cross, viz. : 1, England and Scotland impaled ; 2, France ; 3, Ireland ; and 4, the Electorate ; in the centre, the Star of the Garter, from which spring four sceptres; edge milled. W*. 32 grains (2.07 grams). Bequeathed by Miss M. E. Waldo-Sibthorp. V&A no. 1618–1902.
