Coin, gold. Spade Guinea of George III. Obv. GEORGIVS III DEIGRATIA. Bust of king to right, laureate. Rev. M'B'FETH REX'F'D'B'ETL'D'S R'I'AT. ET'E 1787. Shield pointed at the base and crowned; the arms are : 1, England and Scotland impaled ; 2, France; 3, Ireland ; and 4, the Electorate. Wt. 129 grains (8.36 grams). Bequeathed by Miss M. E. Waldo Sibthorp. V&A no. 1624–1902.
