Coin, gold. Half-guinea of George III. Obv. GEORGIVS III DEIGRATIA. Bust of king to right, laureate. Rev. BRITANNIARUM REX FIDEI DEFENSOR. Small shield within the Garter with motto, crowned ; the arms are : 1 and 4, England ; 2, Scotland ; 3, Ireland ; and on an escutcheon of pretence, the arms of the Electorate, surmounted by the Electoral cap; below shield, 1806. Wt. 64.3 grains (4.17 grams). Bequeathed by Miss M. E. Waldo-Sibthorp. V&A no. 1626-1902.
