Coin, gold. Quarter-Guinea of George I. Obv. GEORGIVS D.G · M · BR · FR · ET · HIB · REX · F · D. Head of king to right, laureate. Rev. BRVN ET L·DVX S.R.I.A: TH ET. EL 1718. Four shields, each crowned, arranged in form of cross, viz. : 1, England and Scotland, impaled ; 2, France ; 3, Ireland ; and 4, the Electorate ; in centre, the Star of the Garter, from which spring four sceptres. Wt. 31.3 grains. Given by Mrs. Glinn. V&A no. 711-1908.
