The 'Yarrows' - Simla

Albumen print by Samuel Bourne, mounted on original card/album page, titled 'The "Yarrows" - Simla". Image shows the "Yarrows" house in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, then-owned by the Rajah of Nahun. Possibly taken from "Peterhof", the house rented by the Governor General. The hill station of Shimla was a summer retreat for British citizens living in India during the Raj. The image was originally part of a 19th century album containing views of colonial India and Asia.
