Studio portrait of two Toda villagers (one male, one female holding a baby) posed in front of a canvas backdrop. The Toda people are a Dravidian ethnic group that live in the Nilgiri Mountains of Tamil Nadu, south India. This photograph was once part of a 19th century album containing views of colonial India and Asia.
