Elizabeth Taylor holds the Oscar for her performance in "[Who's Afraid of] Virginia Woolf". This is the first time she had held the Oscar as she couldn't get to the U.S. for their presentations".

The award was presented to Taylor at the Grosvenor House Hotel during the 1967 BAFTA Awards, where she and husband Richard Burton were also named the year's best British actor and actress for co-starring in the Mike Nichols film.
