Bebionic prosthetic hand, forearm socket with a battery power source and sensors, and a silicone glove to waterproof and conceal the prosthetic when worn outside, produced RSL Steeper Group Limited, and refurbished and used during testing by Otto Bock in Vienna, Austria, 2017

The Bebionic Hand is a prosthetic that can be controlled by muscle contractions in the arm. It is operated by using myoelectric technology to detect electrical impulses from within the muscles in the arm, which enable the user to control the movements different parts of the hand through muscle contractions. Importantly, it is multi-articulating, with individual motors in each finger, proportional speed control, selectable thumb positions and 14 different grip patterns, all of which allow the prosthetic to move in a similar way to a human hand.
