9 magnetic 1/4" audio tapes, copies of radio programme 'On Railways', broadcast on BBC Third Programme between 1959 and 1961. The programme features sound of foreign and British railways.

These tapes were originally copied with the authorisation of the BBC, by Patrick Ransome-Wallis who was a contributor to the programme. The copies of his contributions to On Railways BBC programme completes the collection and the portrait of Patrick Ransome-Wallis as a talented railway enthusiast who not only photographed the railways but also commented and shared with BBC auditors his passion for railways in the UK and abroad
