Pedometer in plated case. Black and red painted hands. The printed dial consists of two concentric rings. The outer, in red, records 1 – 10 miles in 1/10ths of a mile. The inner ring, in black records 1 – 20 miles. The dial is inscribed SMITHS STRIDEMASTER and MADE IN GT BRITAIN. The hands are set to zero by the winding button. The length of stride is set by a screw on the back of the pedometer, where a small aperture shows the adjustment in inches. The movement is stamped steel. The inside of the back cover is stamped SMITHS INDS LIMITED, MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN AND BASE METAL. C. 1980. 51mm dia.
