Pedometer in an engine-turned silver case. Blued steel hand. White enamel dial numbered I to XII. The steel and gilt metal movement stamped “DEPREZ”. Some screws blued. Screw pace adjustment. The case stamped 11975. Late 19th century 41mm dia.

Pedometer in nickel-plated case. Black painted hand, set from a central screw at the back. White printed dial recording 25 miles and inscribed MILES “SUPREX” 1 Division ¼ Mile. Perspex ‘glass’. Stamped brass movement. Pace size marked behind the bow, the ‘winding’ button providing adjustment. 3rd quarter 20th cent. 47mm dia. “Suprex” were made in Germany by Kasper & Richter for the English market. The sole British distributers were Brian R. Morris & Co, 118b London Road, St Albans.

Pedometer in nickel-plated, perhaps contrasting brass and nickel-plated case. Glazed back. Small compass fitted to the crown. Blued steel hands. White enamel dial recording 1760 yards on the outer dial up to ten miles on one subsidiary dial and up to 100 on the other. A third subsidiary, above a projecting wheel, acts as a map wheel. A projecting lever at the top left of the dial zeros the hands. The steel and brass movement has pace adjustment and light ‘snailing’ on the steel backplate. The polished steel weight is stamped with HC and the map wheel trademark of Henri Chatelain, together with the numbers 15676 and 100237. C. 1910. 46.5mm dia.

Chrome cased open-faced pedometer. Blued steel hands. Cream painted dial numbered 0 to 90, with three subsidiaries marked 100, 1000, and 10,000 and bearing a trade mark: a swallow flying over the sun. Said to be Russian. Late 20th century. Pocket clip at base of setting stem. 44mm dia. Maker unknown.

1468 Pedometer to be worn on the ankle and made in the form of a wristwatch: the case chromium plated metal. Leather strap with chrome buckle. Blued steel hand. The card dial, inscribed MILES and W. GERMANY is marked with four different coloured scales for four different pace lengths. Curved lines project the mileage figures from the outside scales to the inside scales. The hand is zeroed by means of a projecting reset wheel. Contained in an original plastic box, complete with instructions. Late 20th century. 42mm dia. Plastic Box: 141mm x 44.5mm. Maker unknown.

The enamel dial recording up to 10 on the outer ring, with one subsidiary dials recording up to 100. The movement silver-plated and skeletonised. Screw pace adjustment. The weight stamped with the monogram PVP. Early 20th century. 45.5mm dia. Made by PVP.

Very small pedometer in a gold case. Blued steel hands. The white enamel dial marked from 1 – 10 around the circumference, with a subsidiary dial recording up to 50. The inside back of the case stamped “K 14”, “6” and three indistinct further numbers. Screw pace adjustment. Indistinctly stamped on the bow, which has a facetted gilt-metal split ring. C. 1900. 22mm dia. Maker unknown.

Pedometer in blued steel case with brass bezel, bow and dial resetting button. Miniscule maker’s mark stamped on bow. Blued steel hands. The white enamel dial numbered from 1 – 10, the subsidiary 10 – 100. Brushed nickel-plated movement with blued screws. The weight stamped DEPOSE H [trademark probably representing a map wheel] C FRANCE ( for Henri Chatelain). The movement very similar to Mus. No. 1433, but parts are polished. Early 20th cent. 34mm dia.

The movement steel and brass, with elaborate stamped scroll decoration to the backplate. Snail pace adjustment. The polished weight stamped 15676 BREVETE DRGM SGDG 100237 with a Swiss heraldic cross. Beneath are the letters HC for Henri Chatelain, France and a representation of a pedometer or map wheel. Early 20th cent. 46mm dia.

Apparently no pace adjustment. 45.5mm dia. C. 1900. Presently contained in an earlier patterned maroon leatherette shaped box, labelled on the underside A STRAUSS AINE 24 RUE DE LA CATHEDRALE LIEGE. Pedometer in the form of a pocket watch. Brass case with stirrup pendant, deep movement with turned pillars. Engraved silver dial signed round the circumference “Le Maire fils AParis”. Four blued steel hands, the outer ring marked “Nombre” and engraved from 0 to 9, the next numbered from 0 to 9 and inscribed “Dizenne”, the next similarly numbered and marked “Centaine” and the last similarly numbered and marked “Mille”. Mid-18th century. 59mm dia.

Pedometer in black plastic and chromed metal case, with large bent metal hanging clip. Zeroing screw in the centre of the back. White painted hand with red tip. The printed dial with concentric coloured circles (reading to 20 kilometres and 12 miles) marked K&R PEDO. Cast into the back is the word GERMANY. Pace adjustment slide at one edge. In original (though cracked and slightly melted) plastic case with flock interior and transparent plastic cover. Late 20th century 48mm dia. Plastic box: 162mm x 62mm. Made by Kasper & Richter.
