One magnetic reel-to-reel 1/4" audio tape, oral history interview with representatives of Woking Homes, railway orphanage and old people home, Mr Max Millard (Chairman), Mr Jack Trucker (Vice Chairman) and Mrs Mavis Champion (Principal), conducted and recorded by Helen Ashby on 24 October 1988. Duration: 29 minutes. The interview outlines the history of the homes from 1885 when they were established and only accepted girls, through to the time boys and old people were accepted. From the 1980s most of the residents are old people. Interviewees also give details of fundraising and management structure.
Master recording made from missing original master. 7 inch reel, stereo, 2 tracks, recorded at 7 1/2 ips, using DBXII, noise reduction. Master copy made using Sony TC 377.
