Daily Herald Photograph: Indoor farming experiment
- Made:
- 1933-11-30 in Gloucestershire
One photograph titled 'Indoor farming' shows two women with trays of indoor grown maize for chicken feed at Woodchester, Gloucestershire. These trays are part of an experiment to grow maize, oats, grass and corn from seeds sown in trays with no light and treated with chemical discovered by Dr.Spangenburg. The experiment has already worked to reduce the length of growing crops for cow feed from ten weeks to ten days. The published article, partially concealed, is attached to the back of the photograph.
