Enjoying a well-earned respite from the heat and partaking of cups of tea provided by the farmer for whom they were working are (from left) Ann Moore, of Shooters Hill, London, Winifred Bradley, who comes from Newcastle, and Freda Moore, a sister of Ann. The girls were working in a field of oats at Bysshe Court Farm, Horne, near Horley, where they are spending their holidays.'
