One photograph of two steel erectors resting on beams high above the city below. Caption on back reads: 'The men at work on the steelwork of the 300ft high Observation Tower under construction at Bellahouston for the Empire Exhibition wear helmets as a protection to their face and ears from the cold winds. The Tower has now reached the 200ft. mark and the 'Suicide Squad', as they are known by the other workers, climb about on slender girders regardless of height - or cold'. Includes attached press clipping from the Daily Herald, 1937-12-08, p. 20. Includes crop marks.
