One photograph of a soldier delivering coal titled 'Troops distribute coal to London housewives'. Caption on back reads: 'Eight hundred soldiers are distributing coal to housewives in London. The need for their services was caused by a spell of exceptionally severe weather which dislocated the normal methods of distribution. PHOTO SHOWS:- Private Tony Agathangelou, a Greek who was a barber before he joined the British Army, carries a hundredweight sack of coal to the fifth floor of Burleigh House, Beaufort st., Chelsea, for delivery to Miss D. Morley (right) who has been without coal for several weeks'.
