One photograph of two men building an organ console titled 'Builders race against time to complete new abbey organ for coronation. Night and day work'. Caption on back reads: 'Working night and day, fourteen men are racing against time to complete the giant new organ in Westminster Abbey, London, in time for the Coronation of the King next May. Most of the organ will have to be installed before January when the Office of Works' men take over the Abbey to erect stands for the ceremony. The largest pipe of all - the 32-feet pedal organ pipe - is being sent from Durham to London by rail and will be hauled into position at night. The new organ will cost £20,00. Photo shows: At work on the console of the new organ at Westminster Abbey'.
