One photograph of 77-year-old George Alfred Robinson in his Eastbourne, Sussex, workshop titled 'He hopes to beat Stradivari'. He sanding the body of a violin, a craft that he took up after retirement from his work as a railway engineer. The luthier obtained a diploma at an international contest in Switzerland in 1949.
