Case, yellow '1450EU Protector Case', designed to transport ocean indicator instrument, associated with the Marine Biological Association, made by Peli, Germany, 2017-2018.
An instrument’s case is almost as important as the instrument itself, as without it the ocean indicator that this particular case housed would not fucntion as a field instrument, able to be transported and protected on sea voyages. Since 1976, the maufacturer Peli has been specialists in designing and manufacturing cases for sensitive scientific instruments that are intended to take on expeditions to harsh and unpredictable environments. With water tight seals, it also features technology to protect instruments in extreme cold and hot temperatures, as well as variable air pressure.
