Titanium anode, spot-welded platinum wire attached
Titanium anode with spot-welded platinum wire attached. The anode 15cm x 2.5cm has passed current readily without breakdown or corrosion when exposed in sea water with an applied anodic potential. This is a reconstruction (1976) of the electrode with which the effect was observed in experiments conducted by Imperial Metal Industries Ltd., Birmingham, c. 1958
