Network SouthEast, Regional Railways and the South Eastern train operating company design material
- Made:
- 1994-1996 in United Kingdom
Publicity material, namely leaflets and posters, commissioned by Helen Slater (née Rayner) for the South Eastern Train Operating Company (in existence between 1994 and 1996), as well as design guides used for implementing the corporate identity for Network SouthEast, Regional Railways and British Rail and a Filofax conductor's day book.
This material represents a snapshot of design work carried out for the vested train operating company (TOC) South Eastern Ltd, which existed between 1994 and 1996 prior to the start of a privatised franchise. The material shows the changing face of railway companies during privatisation from the British Rail passenger sectors to the vested train operating companies. Helen Slater worked as Design Manager for the South Eastern TOC, this collection therefore also documents her work as a female railway employee and designer. It also contains material designed by Train & Rail Marketing Company (an internal railway design group based at Euston); Halpin, Grey, Vermeer; Johnson Banks; Trickett and Webb and David Slater Design.
