She describes the cold, her 'little stove' being useful, being busy, she asks to be sent a photo of a wedding, describes not being granted leave "my leave is off". Papers of Harry Usher, (1889-1937). Harry Usher (d. 1927) was a former General Manager of the Buenos Ayres & Pacific Railway, a post he held from 1914 to 1926. Prior to that he had worked in various accounting, administrative and managerial roles for railways in Uruguay, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Africa, Chile and Cuba. The collection tells a ‘world’ railway story and gives a well-illustrated overview of a career railway administrator. Much of it is career-illustrative material – contracts, cuttings, regulation books, maps etc. However, there are several notebooks and photographs to give more depth and detail to the work Usher did. Five rolls of 83 drawings in five boxes, one large fragile volume of L&NWR miscellaneous drawings which includes a handwritten list of the drawings within the volume.
