London & North Western Railway (L&NWR) and London & Birmingham Railway original architectural drawings. 1843-1913. Five rolls of 83 drawings in five boxes, one large fragile volume of L&NWR miscellaneous drawings which includes a handwritten list of the drawings within the volume. A listing is available in the project folder listing the individual drawings. The drawings are on waxed linen, paper and backed linen. The drawings include general construction drawings and railway line elevations of Northampton Station, Stabling of horse keepers house, Coventry and bridge number 4 for South Stafford Line.

Fireman, Walter Clarke's diary, 1940s. A record relating to the life and interests of a working fireman in the 1940s, it includes entries about his firing turns, improvement class material, and instruction on learning the piano. Walter (Wally) Clarke was the fireman on the up goods involved in the Brownie smash in January 1946. Also includes loose papers and newspaper clippings.
