Selected at random, people in England and Wales were invited to submit a blood sample to see if they have antibodies or protection from COVID-19. Once they opted in, they were sent a test kit and instructions to take a blood sample from their finger. Once collected, the sample was sent through Royal Mail to a testing centre. The National Health Service free antibody testing service closed in March 2022 but commercial tests are still available.
