Amateur video ‘Silverdale Branch’ filmed on VHS videotape by Mark Watson in November 1998. Total duration: 45 minutes. Filming of a Pathfinder rail tour 'Cheshire Mole’ (Magical Mystery tour) on the Silverdale Colliery Branch. Journey starts at Madeley, passing Madeley signal box, Madeley Chord Signal box, passing in Keele tunnels, journey to the colliery and route back. Steam locomotives leading the rail tour are EWS diesel locomotive 56114 and Co-Co diesel-electric locomotive 60038.
The video was filmed a month before Silverdale Colliery was permanently closed. The site of colliery was transformed into Silverdale Country Park, and the former railway tracks were made into a section of the Newcastle Greenway.
