560 lbs counterweight for Buckton tensile tester (adapted later for compression testing). The counterweight is cream-coloured with the embossed inscription 'J. Buckton & Co Ltd Leeds 560 lbs.' It used to be mounted on top of the tensile tester, though a worm gear and shaft system, to increase the applied tensile force.
